Angelina & Crystalina FibresThe Angelina family of products come in several distinct forms: Heat-bonding Types
Non-bonding Types
Photographs just do not do justice to these amazing fibres. Even with the best efforts of our camera and your monitor, much of the magical properties of this material are lost. You could put these words down to over-enthusiastic marketing hype, but this really is something to have to see to appreciate. The amazing
properties of these fibres result in an
unbelievable ability to provide luminescent-iridescent highlights, colour-shifts
and sparkles. The "Heat Bondable" forms allows radiantly coloured
fibres to be heat bonded to each other creating a luminescent web of fibres,
which further change in form and colour when the layers melt together.
Penetrating light is reflected and refracted and partially absorbed producing an
incredibly luminous effect. The non-bonding form does not heat bond, but can be
incorporated (as can other fibres) between the heat bondable type, to increase
the colour range. To use is simplicity itself – just lay strands of the heat bondable fibre on a sheet of paper or baking parchment, combining the colours as desired. Sandwich the non-bondable Angelina, and any other fibres, leaves, feathers, threads etc. between the bondable types and cover with another sheet of paper, and iron. The bondable fibres only stick to each other, not to the background or other materials. Try replacing the bottom sheet of paper with a 3-d surface - some of our moulding mats are ideal (choose one with a fairly open design like the mini mat Ornate Border). Use Angelina for this, because of its fine-ness. When ironed the Angelina will only bond where pressure is applied resulting in a raised surface effect.
